Combat Gems

Learn how to craft, equip, and gather Combat Gems to strengthen your gear in Rhythmia.

Crafting gems

Level 1 gems cannot be crafted. They must be looted or gathered from content throughout Rhythmia. Once you have collected them, you can combine matching gems to create a higher-level gem.

3 gemsUse exactly three gems for every upgrade.

Same colourAll three gems must be red, blue, green, or yellow.

Same levelAll three gems must also be the same level.

Upgrades are made at a Gem Crafting Station. Find one inside a crafting area, or open the World Map and select Gem Crafting in the filters.

Open a Gem Crafting Station.

Place the three matching gems into the required spots, one at a time.

Collect the upgraded gem produced by the station.

If the station does not begin crafting, check that all three gems have the same colour and level. If the problem continues, contact us on Discord.

Strengthen your gear

Equipping gems

A piece of combat gear must have a gem slot before a gem can be equipped to it. Gem slots are rolled at random when gear is crafted or dropped by a mob or boss, and each slot can be one of the four gem colours.

Empty Red Gem Slot

Match the colour. A slot accepts a gem of any level as long as the gem colour matches the slot.

Select the gem in your inventory.

Select the piece of combat gear you want to bind it to.

Choose carefully

Once a gem has been equipped, it cannot be removed from the item.

Gathering gems

There are several ways to collect the level 1 gems needed to begin upgrading.

Mine ore nodes

Normal ore nodes can reward gems while you gather materials.

Find gem nodes

A dedicated gem node guarantees a gem matching the node's colour.

Defeat enemies

Mobs and bosses can both drop gems as combat rewards.

Open rewards

Gems can also be obtained from lockboxes and quests.
